Montreal and Quebec City

So the journey to Montreal was spent sleeping but when awoke to a scenery of mountains I dunno I felt happy. Once past immigration it was a couple of more hours till we got to Montreal and the hostel was really close by and nice. I mean really nice as it's part hotel part hostel anyway they checked me in early and so I kipper a bit more before setting off to tour. Montreal is generally flat land and full of beautiful things to view. My visit to old town was pretty and I actually met a lady on her day off in Montreal who decided as I was travelling on my own I needed company so she told me about montreals history.
Did you know that the old city has many tunnels beneath interconnecting many buildings and that there is an almost underground duplicate city. PB070185.jpg
Well kinda there def is underground shopping for those cold days. They even had a bit of the Berlin wall which was pretty cool i think the art on the berlin wall is pretty cool.PB070184.jpg
I also found a little art gallery which allowed local artists to display and also had many history pieces and videos telling the stories of easrly settlers...the acting horrendous but interesting.
There is also alot of graffiti art but positive pretty stuff. There is also a look out point which is high up and I did make it there huffing and puffing (it was a high hill and then another climb once in the park) but it took so long I saw the view and started back down. Yeah didn't even take any pics I was so tired. I know I'm stupid but eh c'est la vie. But once i did realise this i took as many pics of the city as possible. i really liked Montreal its so pretty.

At night the hostel decided we needed entertainment so we had a pub quiz...no unfortunately i did not win but the questions were way hard. The most embarrassing thing was i got a biology question wrong but then i always get that one wrong.
Afterwards we began a most serious tournament of beer pong!!!! i was last down so was paired with the other late person who just happened to be an indian hmmmmm. We had to wait ages till our turn but the games were hilarious. you had the posers and the wannabes and the naturally gifted and those who weren't. As you may know i have only played once before in Miami and was absolutely crap. Though this time i was pretty good and knocked out quite a few with the help of my partner and then it was the dreaded last two cups and we could just not get them.
Tragically we lost :(.
Oh i finally got to see an ice hockey match and it was epic. The match was an AHL game so like not premier devision but man it was rough. Money is getting tight so I bought tickets for the nosebleed section but snuck into the premier seats which was awesome you felt each body blow. PB090099.jpgPB090129.jpgPB090134.jpg
Then I started getting stiches and figured it was gods way ofsaying enough get to your seat now... Actually needed loo and was not sure I would get in again, but when I was in my proper seat my stiches went so who knows. But the thing is the cheap seats weren't that bad the view was good and the fighting serious. One time the playing smashed the opponents head in and the refs just watch so that they don't get hurt... Madness!!!
That night we had an awesome band playing and the night epic its my last night so sadness!!!

I also fitted in a day trip to mont summat falls and quebec city. The falls were nice they had a suspension bridge over it so you could see the water falling and walk around it too.
At one point i was really worried as i had lost my tour group and saw no one i recognised. It was the worst feeling.
The city is like an Oldie worldie version of English towns. It was pretty but freezing and really one day there was prob enough. There was a furnicular which you took you to the lower parts of the city and its quite touristy. The views though were lush and I had this weird sweet. It was like maple syrup heated and then cascaded on freezing ice.
They then make it into a lollipop thing and it's a major sugar high but nice.

We also did a skyscraper view but this one was weird as they also did a Quebec through the ages thing. So the premise was an air stewardess type person wanted to see old Quebec, but an evil asst disrupts the scientists project and she is lost in time.
So as you walk around you see her talking through the ages and there are a few 3d pictures too. It was ok but the views were nice... Funny people in Canada.
Well that's it, bit sad won't see the cathedral up on the mountain but have no more time :(
Next stop Ottawa
